As we all know, recently famed jeopardy host Alex Trebek passed away and in his wake left behind some pretty big shoes to fill. Trebek had said before that he wanted the show to go on without him, and the executive producers said that there would be some interim hosts when the show resumes production (I am assuming sometime in 2021).

However, there has been a few names floated around that fans thought of as potential replacements for the beloved Trebec. One of them being famed jeopardy contestant, Ken Jennings.

Ken Jennings shoots himself in the foot

This would normally be a good choice because Jennings is familiar with the show, having been on it multiple times, was personally close with Alex Trebek, and is now even a producer on the show.

However it was recently discovered that in 2014 (yup, way back then) that Jennings tweeted out, “Nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.” Oh really, Mr.Jennings?

While yes it is sad that anyone has the misfortune of having to use a. The heelchair (I myself can attest to this, being a wheelchair user myself), someone’s physical appearance has literally no bearing on the matter. So was he saying that the other people that had to use wheelchairs were not as unfortunate or perhaps they deserved it more?

    God, I hope not.

He came out on twitter recently saying that while he didn’t really come out publicly in the past and apologize for that tweet that he did apologize personally to people who had read that tweet and gotten offended by it.

Okay good for him but a public apology would be better and might make him look a heck of a.lot better to the fans of the show. As it stands a fan favorite to step into the legendary role is former host of the PBS kids show, Reading Rainbow, Levar Burton.

Stating my personal preference here but I would stan Levar Burton over Jennings any day. For one he’s a known face and everyone already love him from his days on PBS, also the Trekkies in the audience will know him as Geordie LeForge from Star Trek; The Next Generation.

(Which was my discovery as a child that Burton was an actor, up until then I thought he was just a guy who really loved books.) However, Jennings is an actual oroducer on the show now, so who will win? Stay tuned!!!
