Argentina soccer legend Diego Maradona has died at the age of 60, a source close to his family confirmed to CNN.
Maradona is regarded as one of the greatest football players in history and became a household name after 1986 with a World Cup. This is where, against England, he scored the most iconic goal that he described as the “Hand of God”. He later scored another goal in that game after splitting between seven English defenders.

He continued his career and also played for Barcelona and Napoli. However, his star-studded career wasn’t without controversy, as he became involved with the Neapolitan mafia and later struggled with addiction.
However, even through all the valleys, he always rose to the top of the mountain and after his playing years continued his love for the game with a managerial career. It took him from Argentina across to many different teams but he continued his love for the sport.
Maradona had a successful brain surgery earlier this month for a blood clot in the brain. Whether or not this had to do with his death, we’re unsure.
One thing is for certain, the world has lost a legend today, and Maradona will forever be one of the greatest faces of Football around the world.
He was only 60 years old.
Rest in peace Diego Maradona.
