Joe Rogan is an obvious promotor for the legalization and use of marijuana. Even he though, acknowledges that it wouldn’t be for everyone, but that many people could see positive effects from it. This, like many other podcasts, was brought up in his discussion with Brian Muraresku and Graham Hancock, the latter being a proponent for marijuana as well.
While discussing the profound effects these drugs can have, the NFL got brought up as an example. The opioid problem in the NFL is one that is real and players both current and retired are dealing with. While marijuana continues to get legalized around the country, maybe the NFL will be next.
Rogan spoke about the issue and said,
“It’s amazing that the NFL would have a problem with marijuana when so many of those guys are on pills. I mean, some of those guys are so severely injured. It’s one of the, if not the most, brutal sport in the world.”

Joe Rogan Criticizes The NFL’s Stance For Not Allowing Marijuana Use
While the NFL is free to make it’s own rules and guidelines for its players to follow, there is a conversation that should take place. There are new rule changes every season, so if the NFL were to change their stance, it wouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary.
Could players benefit from having an option between using marijuana against opioids and other prescription drugs? Maybe, but we’ll never know if they don’t try. We’ve seen the effects of prescription drugs, maybe it is time to try something new. We’ll have to wait to see if the NFL changes its mind. Maybe we’ll see marijuana use in the NFL in the next few years.
What do you think? What do you think about the NFL’s stance on marijuana? Let us know in the comments below.
