That’s because the Duchess of Sussex is not only taking a page of out Diana’s handbook, but she’s also apparently trying to copy her look, her style, and even her mannerisms. Or could all of this just be a huge coincidence? Here’s what you need to know.
According to the Daily Mail, Meghan left fans guessing as to whether or not she was wearing Princess Diana’s emerald cut aquamarine ring on her finger. A new black-and-white portrait photo has been released of the couple ahead of the TIME100 Talks that they will host this week.

Not only do fans believe that Meghan Markle is wearing Princess Diana’s £75,000 ring, but some eagle-eyed fans believe that the Duchess of Sussex was also sporting her mother-in-law’s £17,800 Cartier watch in the photo, too.
Of course, it didn’t take very long for many royal fans to comment on the matter, with some pointing out that Prince Harry might be giving in a little too easily to his wife and her “demands.” As it has been reported in the past, Prince Harry supposedly once said to Buckingham Palace staffers: “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”
Many comments have included, “Well Meghan always wanted to be the new Diana, I wouldn’t even be surprised if she bought some copies of Diana’s jewelry just to be pretend she’s Diana 2.0,” along with, “Regardless of whose jewels she is wearing, this photo does show how calculating this woman is. Her pose is not accidental, its perfectly arranged to show off and display her rings and jewels, it really is all about her and the promotion of herself, even Harry is plonked in the background so he cannot distract HER image. Very sly woman.”
Another critic wrote, “The way she sits there, in that photograph, with her arms like that is intentional to put those jewels on display. She knows people are going to react and it will be covered by the media. It’s like she is saying: look, these are my treasures, look what i’ve accomplished in life, look at me! Pure narcissism.”
