British Royal Family News says that Prince Harry left the royal family and he feels as though he’s a better person for it. At least, he feels that he might be more educated and aware, now that he’s no longer living inside a “royal bubble,” so to speak.
In fact, the Duke of Sussex recently opened up to GQ Magazine about anti-racism, education, mental fitness and why he believes that he didn’t have a better understanding of “unconscious bias.” Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal Family News: Did Prince Harry Just Shade Prince William With His ‘Unconscious Bias’ Comments?
During his conversation with Patrick Hutchinson, the man who lifted a protester up during the Black Live Matters protests in London this past summer. Since then, Patrick has become a celebrity in the UK and has been given many platforms to speak about racism in the UK.
When Patrick pointed out that there are people who live with unconscious bias, Prince Harry certainly agreed with him.
He said, “For me, it’s down to a more diverse perspective, otherwise you’re just perpetuating that bias. And I think one of the most dangerous things is people within positions of power, whether it’s politics or whether it’s the media, where if you’re not aware of your own bias and you’re not aware of the culture within your system, then how are we ever going to progress? How are we ever going to get to that point where there is more fairness? Because it’s not a zero-sum game, right? Everyone benefits if the black community gets treated the way they should be treated… Every day is a learning process. And it’s not actually up for debate. These are the facts. This is what’s happening. And it’s been very interesting for me to sit through or live through this in America.”
With his comments, a lot of people can’t help but wonder if Harry might be subtly shading his brother Prince William, who is still living in that royal bubble that Harry has long popped and got out of. Now that Prince Harry is living in the “real world” he certainly has a different perspective on life and some of the topics that he and Meghan Markle have been tackling lately.
Harry continued, “But again, it’s going to take every single one of us to really change things and anyone that’s pushing against it really needs to take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror. Because as I said, this isn’t black versus white. As you quite rightly pointed out, now in 2020 we have protestors of every color, every background, every religion, every age. This is a global movement. The train has left the station. If you’re not on it now, then get on it because there’s so much that we can do. And being a dad myself, the whole point in life, I guess, for me, is to try to leave the world in a better place than when you found it.”
