ABC ‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers finds that when news spread that Mike Johnson would be the next Bachelor, fans were very excited to finally see a man of color as part of the show. Not only is he the new Bachelor, he has also written a book about his past. The book is called Making the Love You Want and in it, he opens up about a lot of personal stuff.

Mike hasn’t talked openly about his past and his book gives fans a better idea about what he has gone through. In the book, he talks about how he was sexually assaulted by his babysitter when he was very young. He never told his parents about it until just recently.
“It was kind of hard for me to talk to my mom and my dad about it at first. It was hard for me to write as I was writing it. I had to take deep breaths. It was absolutely emotional homework for me, but it’s so therapeutic once you get it out there. You can’t just bury the things that hurt you, because it will come up at some point in time. You have to go through it, because if not, it will come up to haunt you.”

When Mike was on the Bachelorette he did talk about some depression that he had over an ex-girlfriend’s miscarriage and the pain that brought to him. Now he is filled with smiles and everyone knows him as the man with the positive outlook on life.
In the book, he opens up more about depression and he said, “I don’t feel that it would ever happen to me again, but if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plan. I felt incredibly fragile. I felt like porcelain. I felt like glass. I didn’t know how to love myself. The things I teach in my book, I didn’t know at the time.”
Mike did serve in the Air Force and he worked on controlling his depression thee too. “If you are genuine when you make somebody smile, if you are genuine in giving positivity, it literally makes you feel better as a human being.”
