One of the biggest nights of the UFC year takes place this weekend, as the main card for the UFC 253 event promises to be one of the most exciting.
The main event will see two undefeated stars go head to head, as Israel Adesanya defends his middleweight championship against Paulo Costa. It is one of the most eagely-anticipated bouts of the year, and should be one of the best fights of the year so far.
Dominick Reyes also faces off against Jan Blachowicz on the card, while Kai Kara-France and Brandon Royval also go toe-to-toe. However, there are also some intriguing fights for fights fans to look forward to on the Preliminary Card.
UFC News: Brad Riddell Takes On Alex da Silva Coelho
The final match on the Preliminary Card will see Brad Riddell take on Alex da Silva Coelho. Both fighters have outstanding professional records, and a victory for either could see the catapult through the lightweight rankings.
Riddell has lost just twice in his professional career, but has won his last five. His UFC debut came 12 months ago as he beat Jamie Mullarkey via unanimous decision.
Coelho provides an excellent opponent for Riddell, as he has lost just twice in 22 professional bouts. However, one of those defeats came last year, as he was beaten by Alexander Yakovlev on his UFC debut via submission.
However, he bounced back to win his first fight in UFC against Rodrigo Vargas less than four months later. This will be an exciting fight between these two dynamic athletes.
UFC News: Other Notable Preliminary Card Bouts
There are two other standout fights during the prelims, with Diego Sanchez taking on Jake Matthews. Sanchez has a record of 31-12-0, and comes into this welterweight bout having lost just once in his last four. His last victory came against Michel Pereira in February. Meanwhile, Matthews has lost just four times in 20 fights, and has won his last two.
There is also an interesting fight on the prelims between Shane Young and Ludovit Klein. Klein has lost just two fights during his professional career, and has won on 16 occasions.
Meanwhile, Young has won on 13 occasions and lost four times. This fight could go either way, but it does ensure that MMA fans will be glued to their screens throughout the evening on Saturday.
