TLC ’90 Day FiancĂ©: The Other Way’ spoilers indicate that Jihoon claps back It’s been awhile since we heard anything from Jihoon from Deavan and Jihoon of 90 day fiance the other way, hasn’t it? In a recent IG story Jihoon claimed that that was because he didn’t want to cause any more drama on social media than what has already been caused, but a few things have come to his attention lately that he’s just not comfortable with, so he decided to speak out against what seems to be Deavan’s most recent claims.
Apparently there were some claims circulating that Jihoon’s own parents abused Drasilla, but Jihoon came back and said it was not true and there was no basis for it. He then came for Deavan saying that she was the potentially committing child abuse for not making her children wear masks (something a little concerning, but it’s a state by state mandate and some children under the age of 6 are not forced to wear mask depending on the state, even though the scientific statstics point to the fact that everyone should be wearing a mask at this point.), and by forcing them on rides that they didn’t want to go on for a youtube video.
TLC ’90 Day FiancĂ©: The Other Way’ Spoilers- Jihoon claps back
He asked the question was it okay to force a child to do something that they didn’t want to do for social media views, and that does pose an excellent question. A lot of family vloggers are getting in trouble for doing things for the views nowadays. Look up 8 passengers, Deavan.
He also said that about Drasilla, that he has written communication from the school in Korea that she was enrolled in that Drasilla, like a lot of young children, was a bit of a handful for the school administrators. He said that she would often pull hair, spit, and scream at the other chidlren and the teachers. Even for an American kindergarten, that’s a bit much.
He also said that as far as discipline goes that Deavan gave him mixed signals. On one hand, Deavan wanted him to be a “father” to her kids, including Drasilla, but when he tried to discipline them that she would get all up in arms about it.
It sounds like they would have benefitted from sitting down and having a conversation about discipline beforehand, but that’d kind of difficult when one’s translator app is dedicated to hating you. He also said that Deavan never once attempted to learn Korean, but that all the pressure was on him ot learn English, which he attempted, but could not master and that was simply not good enough for Deavan.
Not everyone’s language window remains open. That being said, learning a new language isn’t all that difficult, at least not access-wise. There’s several phone apps that can teach language, however, you do have to keep up with them in order to be able to speak things fluently. Learning a language is still learning a language, it doesn’t come easily to anyone.
About the claims that Jihoon prioritized taking naps over taking care of his family, Jihoon said that that was not true either. He gave his work schedule, and this honestly sounds about right.
He said that he got up every day at 8AM to get ready to go to work, sounds like he commuted, and then he arrived to work at 10AM, you might be thinking “That’s only a part time job.” no, that was two part time jobs. He says that he did not get back home until 2AM.
As someone who has worked split shift before, I will educate people. I don’t know about Korea, but in America, if you work split shift, your first shift is 4 hours long. Then you have a bit of a break, to get a few things done, and then it’s back to work for another four hours. That is a full 8 hour shift.
Like I said, I don’t know how long average work shifts are in Korea, but if Jihoon got up at 8AM and then does not arrive on the job until 10AM then give or take 20 minutes to shower and look presentable and grab a snack on the way out the door, it sounds like he had around a 2 hour commute. That’s four hours of driving each day.
Even if he books it home and gets home at 3AM (shaving off 1 hour of commuting time) the fact of the matter is, that still only leaves him with 5 hours to sleep before he has to get up and do it all again the next day. Even I have come down on Jihoon before for taking naps, but knowing his schedule a bit more now, I kind of sympathize because I had a similar one at my old job.
He also goes onto address the kind of job he had. He said originally that he was trying to become tile maker, I’m guessing becaue that would have paid more money and been a full-time position.
However, since I’m guessing tile-making is a trade he needed the money for classes to actually learn the trade and he did not have the money up-front so he took the only job that he could get that would give Deavan incentive to stay in Korea, and that was that of a delivery driver.
He did say that it is true that Deavan paid for everything in Korea. But Jihoon gave the impression that Deavan had previously told him that he didn’t have to worry about it because she made enough revenue from her youtube channel to support them in Korea.
Honestly, I’m not too clear on how much money Deavan makes from youtube, I don’t really know how that works, but if she made enough money to get them a nicer airbnb at such short notice then perhaps some of what Jihoon is saying is true.
Of the rumors that Jihoon is divorced and only taking care of himself now, he says that on paper, he and Deavan are still married but relationship-wise he and Deavan are done. She has moved on and has a new man, and it does hurt, but he cannot focus on that because he has to get on with his life.
And he says that he does send money, and other things, but only for Taeyang, he does not financially support Deavan or Drasilla anymore. He also says that all of the cameo money, Deavan got that. That stands to reason because it looks like cameo doesn’t really do that well with international banks, judging from the whole Lisa and Usmann incident.
