First, let’s talk about Maria de la Paz Sobral Ramirez (Juliana Paes). She started her new life as a cake seller Friday, which has a bit of a rough start. See, it seems Eusébio Macondo (Marco Nanini) didn’t know how to drive all that well despite claiming he could.
He got Maria de la Paz to the spot she planned to sell cakes fine, sure. She even had a decent sales day, despite all the pieces she gave away. But when he brought her home, he turned into a race car driver who ended up crashing the vehicle. Eusébio mistook the brake and accelerator. That’s when we learned he never did get a license.
Things worked out, though. A guy named Chico helped Maria de la Paz get a cart and she set up shop somewhere within walking distance. Each day, she got more clients, and her stomach got bigger. She still had no idea if Amadeu da Penha Matheus (Marcos Palmeira) is alive.

Meanwhile, Dulce Ambición spoilers reveal Amadeu was going through the same situation. He had no news of Maria de la Paz, either. But we watched time progress through his work with a physical therapist named Dr. Gilda Miranda (Heloísa Jorge). Elsewhere, we’ve got little Virgínia Sobral Ramirez (Duda Batista) and her sister Fabiana Sobral Ramirez (Maria Clara Baldon). Virginia is now called Vivi by Otávio Rocha (José de Abreu) and Beatriz Rocha Guedes (Natália do Vale), who officially adopted her.
They played up the no parents thing, and neglected to tell the judge Viv does have an abuela. Beatriz got a little grief about that, but she justified it as they have no idea where she is anyway, or if she’s even alive. Vivi, for her part, seems to be adjusting okay. However, she refuses to take off the necklace she got from her abuela.
At the convent, Fabiana is being raised by the nuns and seems to be doing all right, too. Except she does talk about missing her sister. When a nun tries to get her to take off the necklace, she also refuses with the same reason—abuela gave it to her. Plus, she said her sister wears one just like it. The nun backed off and left it all to God’s Will. She told Fabiana that maybe this will help her and Virginia recognize each other one day.

Finally, the family war isn’t quite over. It looks like they might not be openly attacking each other now. However, Nilda Matheus (Jussara Freire) and Evelina Sobral Ramirez (Nívea Maria) met to discuss their children.
With both Maria de la Paz and Amadeu alive, they have a problem. They don’t want them to see each other again, especially with Maria expecting a baby. So, they decided to lie. They each told their children the other was dead. The news was so devastating to Maria de la Paz, she went into premature labor. Great move, Mom.

So, what’s ahead for these characters? Dulce Ambición spoilers reveal Maria de la Paz will have her baby, while it looks like Amadeu will be moving on with his physical therapist. Judging by the images and the fact we’re promised big decisions, we anticipate a bit of a struggle for Maria as to whether or not to keep her child or give it up for adoption.
