TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?’ Spoilers indicate that we snark about Angela and her peculiar southern vernacular, specifically her phrasing about being able to ‘tote’ a baby, we couldn’t help but feel sorry for her in this episode.
She had previously seen an OB/GYN in Nigeria who told her that she had one good egg left and also informed her that she had a uterus that was beautiful. However, recently, Angela had some bleeding and went to a different OB/GYN (I’m assuming one in the states) and upon further examination the doctor informed her that her one remaining egg was gone.
TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?’ Spoilers- Can Angela even tote it?
Angela and Michael wanted to have kids, and even with their problems its clear that they love each other and will go through hell and high water for one another. Angela was the one who had to muster up the courage to tell an obviously disappointed Michael that their last chance was gone, her egg was gone, and that even though she could carry a baby, they would definitely have to find an egg donor if they wanted to have a child. It was clear to see that Michael was floored by this news.
I felt sorry for her because Angela feels like this might be a dealbreaker for their entire relationship and honestly, Michael knew what he was getting into when he started dating Angela. Unless he’s way more sheltered than I think he is (and I don’t think he is) he knew that Angela was older than him and I’m amazed he even thought for one second that biology could be on their side.
Angela thinks that if she can’t have a child with him that he will go and find someone who will and I feel so bad for her because she shouldn’t have to worry about that. Michael should love Angela for Angela and if he wants kids then he should consider opening his heart to adoption. Sometimes the best family is the family you get to choose, and if he’s going to come to the US with Angela, then there are a lot of children who would absolutely love to have him and Angela as parents.
Fertility treatments take a lot of time and money, but most of all they are extremely physically taxing on a woman’s body and they don’t always work. I would hate for Angela to think that just because biology isn’t on their side that she and Michael can’t have a family, and I would hate for him to perpetuate that idea to her.
I get that his culture is big on doing things the old fashioned way, but they’ve got plans to move to the US anyway so why not just adopt? It would be positively heartwarming and would serve the same purpose I’m just saying. We’ll see how things develop. Stay tuned!!!
