hNBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) is back. However, we’re not sure that’s a good thing. While we were huge fans of the Time Jump plot and the various mysteries the writers unraveled after, we’re questioning new stories. Here’s what’s gone down so far, and our take on the situation/character.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Background
First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal this week we learned a few things. Like Eve is the one behind the kidnapping of Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) following the bombing she ordered. Now, she’s got big plans for Ben that involve brainwashing and revenge. Namely, she wants Ben to kill Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal).
Honestly, we can’t even believe we’re writing that. Sure some of her dialogue is amusing, and we love an attitude. But overall? We’re not feeling this new storyline. We’re also wonder what the point is. Let’s break it down more.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Seriously?
So, we can’t talk about this without reacting to the way she returned. Last time we saw Even, she was taking advantage of an amnesiac and plotting to put Ben in jail for Claire Brady’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) crimes. Plus, she left previously after a lie ruined her relationship with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).
Also, her character bio online lists crimes like hitting someone with a car and sleeping with her own daughter’s boyfriend. Planting bombs seems a huge leap from that. Not to mention, how overall cheesy and weird her return’s been.
For example, since when does Eve have hired help? And what appears to be a warehouse all her own with dramatic spotlight add-ons and doors that open magically on their own? And let’s not even get started on that red sequin dress she’s parading around in as she rants about what she’s going to do to Ben. Plus, there’s a bigger problem on a character level.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The real monster
So, Even has been hell-bent on making Ben pay for her daughter’s death. That’s something we can get behind. Obviously, she’s going to want to see him punished. Her methods, though, are terrible. Turning him back into the necktie killer, though? And having him take someone else’s life just to ruin his? That’s way too far. And with Konefal on the way out, as well as Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady), this is not giving us good vibes.
Whether or not Ciara actually dies, this new development makes us wonder what the point is? Him actually trying to kill her would likely be something she can’t get beyond. Even if she knows he was brainwashed and possibly drugged. It feels like we watched these two actors build a great chemistry, and saw their characters fight hard to overcome everything only to have it maybe end this way. It seems a bit of an insult.
Ben’s struggle with mental illness has been a huge part of the story and people were just beginning to at least tolerate/accept him for Ciara’s sake. We doubt an attack on Ciara would be something almost impossible to fight back from, no matter the outcome.
