NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal Belle Black (Martha Madison) might need to check herself. We haven’t had a problem with her since we were introduced to this character. Sure, we thought she could have waited a bit before she did something. But we accepted she was doing what she felt was “right” and “legal”. However, she just threw that out the window. Here’s what you need to know.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: By the book
So, one of our first introductions to Belle was during Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) shooting and the aftermath. She’d been in the hospital on life support, and it wasn’t looking good. John Black (Drake Hogestyn) wouldn’t give up, though.
They’d just gotten remarried and he couldn’t bear to lose her already. That apparently wasn’t a problem for someone else. Okay, maybe that’s just a little unfair.
Belle is a lawyer, and she found her mom’s advance directive. It clearly stated she didn’t want to be kept around like this. Belle was her power of attorney, so she felt an obligation to do what her mother wanted. Although, we do think she could’ve waited just a little bit before she gave the order.
Ultimately, John ignored Belle’s conviction that this had to be done. He snuck around behind her back and replaced her mother with Hattie Adams (Hall), giving Marlena the extra time she needed to make that eventual recovery.
Now, we saw both sides there and didn’t really hold it against her character too bad. Although, we did think she moved a little too fast and was a bit too emphatic in her decision.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Not so much…
Fast forward a bit. Recently, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Belle came back. Her daughter, Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) got out of Bayview and she had to also sign off on this. She also wanted to check on Claire and stick around a bit, although their original plan was to take Claire to Hong Kong.
When they returned again, there was a lot of drama about Ciara Brady’s (Victoria Konefal) wedding to Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson). Ben though Claire sabotaged the dress, ring, and drugged Ciara. Ciara, after the third incident, agreed Claire was behind this misfortune and banned her from the wedding. We all know by now how that event ended.
On Monday’s episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) questioned Claire about her whereabouts. This is where we couldn’t. Apparently, she was too law-abiding and ethical to ignore Marlena’s directive. In fact, she couldn’t act on it fast enough.
But she’s not too law-abiding and ethical enough to avoid lying to a cop in an ongoing investigation. Into a bombing that nearly killed a bunch of her family members, no less. She outright told Rafe that Claire was with her all day, which wasn’t true. Claire showed she really has changed by admitting that she left for a walk. So, what next?
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: What should happen, but won’t
Obviously, there are a lot more important things to worry about in Salem. However, Belle should probably face some consequences for her lie. It’s called obstruction of justice, and Belle’s beyond guilty. A certain lawyer on General Hospital got disbarred for a similar, yet less serious, situation.
But we aren’t going to hold our breath for Belle to get called out, even. And that’s something that sort of bugs us. She risked Claire’s well-being, too, because if Claire had been guilty that would prove she’s not healthy enough to be out of Bayview.
