British Royal Family News says this might be the mistake that Meghan Markle initially made with the royal family during her first few days on the job. Apparently, the Duchess of Sussex was thrusted in the spotlight without much ‘princess training,’ leading many to believe that Meghan was simply unprepared for everything that royal life had to offer. Here’s what you need to know.
Looking back at one of Meghan’s first engagements with Queen Elizabeth, Morton said that while the former Hollywood actress was certainly trying her best, she didn’t know what to do at certain times.
British Royal Family News: Is This The Mistake Meghan Markle Made With The Royal Family?
According to the Daily Mail, Morton explained, “She didn’t know the protocol, she didn’t know the etiquette. I’ll give you a perfect example,’ he explains. ‘She went up to Liverpool with the Queen, and she’s sitting on the chairs and it’s a windy day.
She doesn’t know what side of the car to get into, to get out of, what hand to hold her handbag in, and you can see that kind of confusion in her face. Meghan, even though she’s an actress, has had to swap the red carpet for the royal road show.”
Royal observer and critic Lady Colin Campbell, meanwhile, believes that Meghan’s problem was that she was ‘too American’ for a very ‘British’ royal family.
She added, “Meghan has very American expectations, she is all about confidence, go-getting, hustling, and all of those Hollywood things that she has been brought up to regard as desirable.”
So far neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle have made any comments from all of the criticism that they have gotten. However, the book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, hits bookshelves August 11th and supposedly tells their side of the story, even though they claim not to have anything to do with it.
