CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that someone must’ve read the show mind, because our first throwback spoiler is going out in style with a pool party to boot. No, it’s not a party for us, though we wouldn’t mind crashing it. This one’s hosted by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to celebrate Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes)’s custody case ending with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) winning custody. It’s only temporary as the judge gave them six months as Cassie’s guardians, and she also added that she hoped they would adopt Cassie at the end of the six months.
It’s been a long fight, but it’s ended with most everyone getting what they want. To help them celebrate, and we’re sure part of this is because of Cassie’s age, Victor and Nikki set up a pool party at the ranch in this tasty treat of an episode from July 27, 1999.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For June 6: Victor and Nikki Celebrate Cassie’s Adoption
What’s a celebration without someone getting up and giving a heartfelt speech? How about two? Or maybe three? As the party neared its end, Nick wanted to say a few words. He’s overjoyed to be back from Mexico in one piece, but he’s even happier that he and Sharon have worked through their problems and are back on track and won custody of Cassie. Sharon followed his lead, saying she always heard things are darkest before the dawn. She now knows it’s true as she and Nick went through their darkest time and are better people after dealing with their trials.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For June 6: Some speechifying
Since good things come in threes, as well as possibly being paid by the word, Cassie took her turn at sharing her thoughts. As is standard for children in these scenes, she explains how she’s happy to be a member of a family with grandparents, a brother, and of course, parents. This is the happiest day of her life, and she thanks her “Mommy” and “Daddy” for fighting so hard for her. Nick is nearly brought to tears at being called daddy for the first time.
Despite our jokes, this is a really touching scene and ‘Young and the Restless’ really enjoyed it. It’s really awesome to see a celebration following a victory like this. It really helped bring the family together and gave Cassie a real sense of belonging. Wonder if they’re planning a Cassie week at some point?
