CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers are here and we’re looking forward to some more summer fun and we have the throwback spoilers to prove it. Today, we’re heading to the Abbott family barbecue to celebrate July 4, 2005 in style.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For July 7: Party time
This pool party was hosted by Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman), and she was in her glory. Several characters commented that they’ve never seen her look so excited, and it’s obvious she can’t contain her joy at having everyone together. John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) was just as pleased, as he was clearly falling in love with her again. Some things just can’t be ignored, and this would prove true in the future, much to the dismay of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and the others.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For July 7: Gloria hosts the Abbott Family BBQ; Victor Lifts Nikki’s Spirits
These types of episode are fun because they’re something all of us can get into. Most of us have been to a pool party of some sort, so it’s easy for us to imagine ourselves there. And if we haven’t been to one yet, it gives us something to aim for in the future. It’s one of the things about this show that ‘Young and the Restless’ love about the show. It’s not easy to reach so many people and make us feel comfortable and part of something bigger, but they do it again and again. As is typical in these gatherings on television, there had to be a speech, and this one was given by Gloria once everyone was there and settled. In this case, Gloria toasted to the happiness and joy of Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren Fenmore (Tracy Bregman)’s upcoming wedding.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For July 7: Surprise for Nikki
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) wasn’t happy about not holding the Newman family barbecue that year, and she’s let everyone know how she does best — she pouted, moped, and sulked. Well, maybe there were a couple others in there as well, but those are her usual ways. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) noticed and took action.
It started with something simple and caring as he surprised her with a romantic dinner. It’s often the small things, right? But there’s always more when Victor’s involved. As they danced, he surprised her with a fun and romantic three week cruise to the Greek Isles in the fall. This did the trick as Nikki’s blues were immediately chased away as she now had something special to look forward to doing.
