CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers find that, recently, Brad Bell, creator of the show did an interview about the daytime Emmy wins that the soap received. However that’s not the only thing that he addressed, he also went into detail about how the soap is going to progress with all of the proper social distancing protocols in place. Like me, I’m sure you’re wondering just how on earth a medium that practically depends on love-scenes is going to survive in the days of social distancing Fortunately for us, Brad Bell sat down and gave all the answers to that particular dilemma in a recent interview.
He says that right now they are trying to create a world in which there is no social distancing (no COVID-19) and that they are using every device at their disposal to make this world a convincing once. They are focusing on family and intimacy, love, and connection at a time when the world is disconnected. Now that’s quite a feat but since he did mention family, does that mean that there’s going to be a shift in plotline to reflect more family dynamics? Are the old rivalries between Ridge and Bill going to kick back up again? They may not get within 6 feet of each other but these two could royally engage in a twitter battle!

CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Love In The Time Of Social Distancing
Or will this rival torch be passed on to Thomas and Liam? Since Liam does all kinds of cybersecurity this could lead to some interesting plots for Forrester Creations as well as Spencer Publications, small cyber battles may lead to real-life encounters, I mean it’s happened before. Also with hacking and cancel culture on the rise, this could also lead to some interesting plotlines, it may sound childish, but that’s only a matter of how it’s written. This era of social distancing could open up soaps to a whole new wave of plotlines, something that they have been kind of ignoring for the past two decades, and that is technology.
Think about it, a lot of the technology you see in soaps is, while maybe not outdated just not utilized, even as it is in everyday life. Soaps are about two decades behind the rest of the world when it comes to plotlines revolving around technology. I mean, long ago All My Children had a very “You’ve got Mail” storyline, sadly the character’s names escape me at the moment but this would have been in the ’90s… 94 at the earliest. Sunset Beach tried to do a story about online dating, and then there was Lulu Spencer’s (Emme Rylan) brief foray into the Tindr for dates recently before she met Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), but no soap has ever really explored what a real, cyber, long-distance relationship is. It would be an interesting romance challenge for any of the head writers out there.
And with Steffy Forrester needing a new man… that could open up some interesting cyber dating possibilities. Bell says that Steffy is going to have a period of time in the future in which she is hot to trot and a lot of men are going to be after her. So, now with social distancing involved are they just going to start sliding into her DMs and face timing her? I mean, hey, it could be a thing! Stay tuned!!!
