CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers finds that we are pretty sure we all wondered how on earth love scenes were going to be filmed on soap operas post COVID-19. Well, apparently B&B has the answer! Brad Bell has asked everyone’s significant others to step in for the love scene parts of filming. Provided everyone has a COVID-19 screening test beforehand. On The Talk recently the issue was addressed by Denise Richards (Shauna Fulton), it would seem that her real life husband will be filling in for Thorsten Kaye’s “Ridge” during the love scenes. The good thing is, these two guys already kind of look alike so it won’t be jarring and there won’t be a need for anybody to go through the dark web in search of ‘deep fakes’, where they literally take a celebrities’ head and paste it on someone else’s body in a video.
CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Denise Richards on filming post COVID-19
Or will they? They lucked out with Denise’s husband, but what about those soaps stars who’s significant others simply don’t fit the bill for a stunt double? Never fear! Looks like the world of Real Dolls is about to explode because if you don’t have a significant other, or have one that doesn’t fit the bill when it comes to your on-screen love interest, then Richards says that the order from Bell is to film with a doll. Man, these are going to have to be some real convincing dolls, or there’s going to be some real fancy camera work going on there or something. The good thing is, with a doll you never have to ask what your scene partner’s motivation is, the bad thing is, you would get a very stiff, almost wooden performance. (I couldn’t resist.)
It looks like all the proper social distancing measures are in order over at B&B and that’s a good thing. That means we can have more of our favorite soaps, life’s just going to be slightly different for a little while. Maybe the scenes won’t be as romance focused and they’ll have to focus on actual plot and power struggles instead and that… might be challenging. However I’m sure the talent pool over at B&B are up for that. I have to hand it to anyone who can act a social distancing love scene convincingly. Everyone goes back to work at B&B next week, and I can’t wait. Stay tuned!!!
