ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal JaSam week began on June 22nd. This episode brought a lot of other great stuff, but it’s significant to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) for a very good reason. Let’s take a look at why, as well as some other awesome moments.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The beginning
Why was this episode important this week? ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal this was when the future couple met. The episode, first aired on December 3, 2003, also might have been a sign. See, they met under bad circumstances. Jason was already in custody after an attempt on Lorenzo Alcazar (Ted King). Sam was brought in as an accessory.
While she was actually an innocent kidnapping victim here, Sam did have a certain loyalty to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard). Jason offered her a great lawyer and bail money if she refused to press charges, which she ultimately chose not to.
What we found interesting about the whole thing was the meeting was not under great circumstances. Plus, Jason was involved with someone else. By the end of the episode, it looked like that relationship was doomed, due to Jason’s work. It just doesn’t look good, and we honestly don’t think the JaSam pairing is any better of an idea at this point that Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Also, Sam’s loyalty didn’t mean much by the end, but we’ll get to that in a minute.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sensing a theme
In other ‘General Hospital’ spoilers, this episode found Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) close. However, Elizabeth was apparently also pregnant by Zander Smith (Chad Brannon) and afraid to tell Ric. She might lose him. Kind of sounds like what she did when she hid Jason’s (Billy Miller) true identity after she learned of it. This girl has a habit of making some questionable choices out of fear. Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) better watch out…
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Point proven/Loyalty
Finally, there’s the Sonny story. As if proving the problematic nature of his work and their bond, he and Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) got into it a bit over his actions. Namely, confessing to kidnapping Sam. She didn’t understand why he’d open himself up to a kidnapping charge, and she was also caught in a bad situation with Alcazar. He wanted her, but she just wanted Sonny. This shows they seem to always have something dangerous going on, and it also shows one reason she might stick around.
Sonny was tough as can be once he’d been caught. He went from the emotionally-driven person who tried to take out his rival to a cool-headed boss once he was in custody. He’d refused to speak without a lawyer, and even accused Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) of entrapment. That changed once Sam was brought into things.
When Scotty couldn’t get anywhere with Sonny, he called in Ric. This is where they made progress in getting charges against the mobster. Ric had brought up Sam and how she would be getting charged, which made Sonny eventually confess to kidnapping. He refused to allow an innocent woman he abducted go down for any crimes. It shows his kind, honorable side, which is probably part of the attraction for Carly. Even if she did appear a bit frustrated with him when she first learned of the confession. Stay tuned to see what is next for JaSam week.
