Rachel feels that she does need to share her feelings with her fans, especially since she is a woman of color. She was asked about Hannah Brown’s apology when she used the N-word on Instagram Live. She told fans that it was “exactly what I would expect when it takes you two weeks to put out an apology. I mean, it should have been all those things. ABC ‘The Bachelor’ Spoilers: Rachel Lindsay Is Embarrassed
There are some very mixed attitudes about the lack of diversity on the Bachelor shows and Rachel said, “We have no cast for 40 season-even though they haven’t started Clair’s season. There’s been one person of color in 40 seasons. We have 45 presidents. There has been one person of color. We are literally on par to saying that you are more likely to become the president of the United States than you are to be the leader of this franchise. That is insane.”
Rachel mentioned that she cannot continue to support the show if this is how things are going to be. “I just feel like if anybody is in my position, you couldn’t sit quiet about that. and I don’t think that anyone would fault me for saying that. We continue to make excuses as to why we haven’t seen this change. When I look at what’s happening in our country, and then I look at the franchise, I can’t continue to be affiliated-it’s embarrassing honestly at this point-to be affiliated with a franchisee who is not on the right side of this.” Fans of the show were shocked that she made these statements, but we think it’s so great that she is standing up for more diversity on the shows.
