ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Corinthos Kids Week Kicks Off – What You Need To Know!

ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal this week centers around Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his kids. The first entry in this collection, originally aired on January 29, 2010, was a great choice. It also made us reflect a little on the character, as well as something else. Here’s what you need to know.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The story

So, this episode marked Josslyn Jacks’ christening. We still can’t get over her basically being an infant on here only ten years ago. But we’re glad they aged her, because Eden McCoy is great in the role. Anyway, there was a lot of tension in this episode. Everyone seemed to have a bad feeling about this gathering, and it was apparently for good reason. Well, sort of.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: About Sonny

While this episode didn’t have anything tragic happening at the event itself, there was a huge moment. Sonny had recently learned that the guy he’d been working with isn’t who he claimed to be. And he’d betrayed Sonny. That person turned out to be Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).

To punish this betrayal, Sonny called him to the house. Dante figured out right away that something was off, and Sonny didn’t bother to hide his intent long—rats gotta go. This was a gripping scene with outstanding acting by Benard and Zamprogna. Especially Sonny’s obvious hurt when he’d considered making Dante his successor. And it got better after Dante was shot and Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) raced in and said Sonny shot his own son.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sensing a theme

So, we think there’s a theme here. In recent flashback episodes, we’ve seen them believe that Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) died because of a hit Sonny planned for someone else. After reading a bit, it seems Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) actually did get hurt because of another retaliation plan gone wrong. And now? We have Dante. It just shows why Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) should be keeping her minor kids as far away as possible. However, there is a bit of a change here.

Today, the threat is Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) almost died from a hit meant to send a message. And Joss and the family had to go on lockdown to avoid getting hurt. The fact Cyrus didn’t get killed already shows a more conservative approach these days. Which could be a result of the incidents we mentioned a little bit ago.

Let’s not forget Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). The 2010 Sonny would have taken him out before Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) got the chance later. Even before Kristina got out of the cult, actually. And let’s not forget that Julian Jerome (William DeVry) was acting suspicious with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen). That’s another person that likely would have been taken out by now. Or, at the very least, attacked. We’re not sure what Sonny we prefer more.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: OG for the win

We do know, however, that Julie Marie Berman as Lulu Spencer is the MVP. Even when she was judging Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) for her betrayal of Luke Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), she came off as far more likeable than today’s version of the character. And we kind of liked watching her get nervous over being Joss’ Godmother. Here’s hoping the actress comes back on the show at some point. It wouldn’t be the first time someone returned as a new character, right?
