ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal the 2017 Nurses Ball will be the focus for most of this week. Let’s talk about some of the best moments of the episode, as well as a few thoughts on it as first-time viewers. There’s definitely a lot to process.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Changing it up
To start off, we were a bit disappointed there was no red carpet commentary. Or any stage crashing. After the first couple we saw, it looked like poor Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) was the Lucy Ricardo (Lucille Ball) of GH. As in, always wanting to be in the show, but no one wanted her so she snuck in.
However, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal the opening number was a fun performance. Plus, it was a bit different. We loved how they started it off with a video filmed by the GH nurses that led to them coming on stage. It was also a great song for today, sending a little positive energy out there.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Steve or Billy?
The big thing for us was Billy Miller as Jason Morgan. We’d only seen Steve Burton in the part. Seeing Miller as Drew Cain made it hard for us to picture him as a mob enforcer. However, this episode changed our minds a bit. Sure, he wasn’t doing anything for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard), but he had a distinct look that was different than Drew. We also enjoyed him and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) together, and are interested to see his struggle with nightmares over the next episode or two. That took up some of their conversation today.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Flashback
In other ‘General Hospital’ spoilers, we kind of geeked out when we saw who was hosting the red carpet alongside Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford). It was Mario Lopez, who we remember from Saved by the Bell. Fun fact for anyone who doesn’t know: he was also a dancer on the Disney series “Kids, Incorperated” for a season or two. Nothing like seeing familiar faces pop up in an unexpected place.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sensing a theme
As for the theme… the ball seems to be a bit of a jinx in this town. Every episode has featured some cheating and/or misunderstandings between couples. Not to mention a big problem/reveal, as Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) had her mind on a case. One that looks as though it will impact an upcoming performance. In other themes, Ava Jerome (Maura West) was in trouble again. This time, it was over Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) death. While she was being advised to leave Morgan’s name out of her guilt donation by Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), Sonny made an observation. Through reading Morgan’s diary and tasting the powder at the bottom of Morgan’s pill bottle, he realized it’s not the lithium it was supposed to be. We’re looking forward to seeing what Sonny has planned, as he made a last-minute appearance at the ball to end the episode.
