TikTokker Lorelei Clemens (Lordakeet) recently got a cease and desist letter from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast member Big Ed Brown. Now, Big Ed, or his lawyer, sent this knowing full well that legal agreements do not protect criminal acts, especially acts for which Lorelei has medical documentation. According to Lorelei she had to go to the hospital after her incident with Big Ed. She has said so several times in interviews and in her TikToks, so technically, Lorelei cannot be stopped from speaking her truth when no legal document on earth prevents her from speaking out about criminal activity and the last time we checked, that’s exactly what sexual harassment and assault fall under. Of course, we have to keep in mind that these are still allegations at this point, and we haven’t heard from Big Ed Brown regarding Lorelei Clemens’ accusation. This latest video showing a cease and desist letter (with the first page cut off, we’re assuming for protecting the NDA) falls under the same category
Also, in a lot of the videos that Lorelei has posted, it is mostly speaking out about sexual assault in general, they do not mention Big Ed expressly by name. She does a lot of posts about victim blaming, and how that no victim should stay silent or let their attacker bully them into silence. This is by far a more general message than anything concerning Big Ed, this is a good message to send to victims of sexual harassment and assault because it promotes healing among victims of sexual assault and violence.
TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days’ Spoilers: TikToker Lorelei speaks about sexual assault
Technically, Lorelei’s message is not about Big Ed, it is about becoming a voice for victims of this kind of assault and letting them know that they should feel no shame about coming forward with their trauma. In some of the videos she does use his likeness but she doesn’t mention his name. The thing is, the videos fall under the fair use clause since Lorelei is not profiting off of them in any way. (I would not know how people would get paid for TikTok anyway) and also, Lorelei has not tried to profit from these videos in any way, she was simply speaking her truth.
Some TikTokkers do get paid to do videos but Lorelei is not a member of Hype House and is not an uber content maker, she just makes videos from her home detailing her assault experience. Why would Big Ed, who fancies himself a TV personality, be trying to stop one persons voice? She is literally on a phone app used by teenagers learning the latest dance craze, in over half the videos she doesn’t even speak, ultimately what is one person’s voice going to do to him? Or is the guilty conscience just that bad? We’ll keep you posted.
