TLC has given us some crazy cast members in their years as a network, but there is a whole new breed of them coming in on the show, sMothered. The show follows mother and daughter pairs and their closeness. Yes, we understand that families are close, but you have never seen anything like this! One of these mother-daughter pairs is Alena, who is 21 and Marcia, who is 68. Alena was adopted and Marcia has done her best to make her feel the most love a daughter can have. This includes Marcia waking her up every morning by licking her face like a puppy!

Alena has wanted a puppy for most of her life and Marcia just doesn’t want one. Instead of getting her one, she gives her daughter puppy kisses every morning and role plays being a puppy. Yes, you did read that correctly. Not only does she do this everyday, they also will play a game of tag in the living room every morning. This began when Alena was a little girl. She has a disorder that has caused her her growth to be stunted. Marcia would play this game with her so that she could build her gross motor skills. They run around the living room until one catches the other. Then the winner will smother the other with kisses!

“My relationship with her is unique,” said Marcia. She went onto say, “In the mornings, I walk into her room and I just like her all up.” Alena said, “My mom is definitely my best friend. I love it when my mama licks me, it kind of makes me feel closer to her because we’re doing something funny and out of the ordinary.” This is a very interesting way to look at things. Yikes!
This is the second season of sMothered and it has gotten quite the great feedback from viewers.
