Love Island News finds that the landscape of the summer edition of Love Island seems to be changing every day at present. It looked as though the summer edition of the reality show would have gone ahead as planned but with a delay of a few months. That decision came after rumours that the show could be recorded in England were knocked back.

However, reality fans would be fearful once again now after the latest comments made by the bosses at ITV that have been reported by Sky News. The director of television at ITV, Kevin Lygo, has admitted that he would be uncomfortable to go ahead with the show in June with contestants getting close to each other while the remainder of the country follow social-distancing.

Love Island News: Bosses Uneasy About Love Island

Lygo was speaking at a television festival in Edinburgh, which was being held virtually this year due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. He admitted during the questioning that there are a number of other aspects that need to be taken into account. Among those would be the question regarding whether Majorca will be allowing thousands of people into the country.

Of course, ITV are wary about the measures in place as the show will need more than just the contestants to travel to Spain, with production staff also needed on location for the filming to take place. Lygo admitted that the decision will be made fairly soon, with a delay among the most likely options for the show.

Love Island News: Original Plans Look To Be Over

Lygo did admit that doubt over the current start date is forcing ITV’s hand. He admitted that the contestants and crew would be heading over to Spain in six weeks, but there is no reason to believe at present that this will be feasible. He did however tease that some crew were looking at locations in Cornwall.

However, he realised that filming the show in the United Kingdom will mean that it is no longer the show that millions of people around the world have fallen in love with.
