British royal family news finds that fans in the United Kingdom were given a rare sighting of Prince Harry on television this week. Royal fans haven’t seen a lot of Prince Harry since he made his decision to step back from senior royal responsibilities at the beginning of the year. However, Harry was on hand for some light-hearted jokes when appearing on The One Show on Monday evening.
His appearance was used to honour the efforts that are being made to support injured veterans. The cause is something that is very close to the royal’s heart, as fans will remember that he set up the Invictus Games as a platform for injured veterans. He spoke on the BBC show via video link and had a special surprise for two families.

The show on the BBC was a special episode to continue the celebrations from VE Day on Friday. Celebrations on Friday were extra special as it marked 75 years since the end of the Second World War. Harry appeared on The One Show to bring together two veterans and their families. The heartwarming scenes would have been welcomed by all viewers, as the UK continues to honour the heroes from the war.
On the show, viewers were introduced to Maggie Wilson, who was the wife of air-man Sandy Saunders. Sandy received burns to his face when his Tiger Moth plane crashed in the Second World War. He was warned by Archibald McIndoe that he would need new upper and lower eyelids, but did vow to give him new lips so he could kiss his wife.

After revealing about the reconstructive work that Sandy had done, Harry asked whether he still had good lips for kissing. She didn’t even pause before revealing that he had good kissing lips. Sandy’s legacy was talked about, as the veteran set up the Guinea Pig Club. This was established for veterans that had suffered burn injuries.
The work that the Club does includes finding treatments for injuries that have been suffered in battle. These treatments are still used to this day. Also on the call, Harry spoke to Andy Perry, who spoke about his father Jack. Jack played an important role in the CASEVAC Club, which helped those that were evacuated from the Afghanistan War due to medical emergencies.
