NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal things are slowly getting back to some sense of normalcy. Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) are both free men again, for one. The whole Stefano DiMera/Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) thing is about settled, and Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) was both busted and got out of jail free for her sins, too. It looks like this week something else will return to what passes for normal in Salem. But is it a good thing? Here’s what you need to know.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Return to duty
Since the Time Jump, Lani Price (Sal Stowers) has either been living the convent life, or trying to expose Gabi’s threats against Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Meanwhile, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers say Eli Grant was in a romance with Gabi and working for DiMera. But since Gabi’s exposure, that’s all changed as well. Elani is now reunited, and it looks like they’ll be resuming their old lives.
According to the advance spoilers, Eli and Lani will return to work at the Salem PD. It’s not a surprising move. They jumped right into action to help Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) find David. However, we’re not sure it’s the best move. Let’s face it: The Salem PD is a joke. And Eli and Lani are a big part of that disaster of a police department. Let’s take a look at the record.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Not good
First of all, let’s get some perspective. Salem is full of crime. In fact, we’d be hard pressed to name someone who hasn’t killed, blackmailed, kidnapped, stole, etc. Quite a few people in town have found their way to the station in handcuffs. But how many actually stayed there? Yeah, we thought so. It’s a dismal number. And most of the few that did get convicted and sent to jail were innocent! Just see the intro to see that. And that’s not even a full list. What about Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva)? She did time for pushing Jennifer, and she was innocent.
Meanwhile, no one in town (even the PD where Princess Gina, played by Kristian Alfonso, was working) noticed the change in their so-called boss. Only Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) seemed to be concerned. But even he didn’t notice soon enough. All the while, Stefano was running around unchecked. And Lani and Eli weren’t doing so well lately.
Let’s remember back a ways to when Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) first returned. It’s been a while since this episode aired, so we don’t remember which one said what. But this pair was out on the town when they ran into Jack. One, we think Eli, thought he looked familiar and wondered if he’d seen him on a wanted poster. Neither one felt it necessary to stop and check. Instead, they headed home for some New Year’s fun. Recently, they did something similar when Orpheus (George DelHoyo) dropped a toy and refused to stop when called. Instead of trying to follow the person or calling Rafe on the phone, they ended up telling him about the incident a little later. Not helpful, in our opinion. We think Salem needs some new blood, and we think we have just the guy.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Crossover?
Recently, we’ve been covering a telenovela called Sin Miedo a la Verdad. A big part of the show is Manuel “Manu” Montero’s (Alex Perea) quest for justice in his country. Through his vlog of the same name, people are able to contact his alter ego “Gus” when they need help. Manu will show up, claiming “Gus” sent him. So far, we’ve seen him do three cases this season, as his vlog thing is secondary to another story. But in each case, he shows up, gets the information he needs in record time, makes the rescue, and the bad guys pay. And usually, it’s done in only a couple of episodes. This guy is a crime-fighting machine, and we think someone like him is just what the Salem PD needs desperately. Of course, it won’t happen. Competence seems to be a strike against you when applying to the Salem PD.
