CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that for anybody that has gotten used to the show then you must admit: Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is known for her polarizing, questionable, and manipulative ways. She has an attitude, control-problems, and she stops at nothing to get what she wants. For long-time viewers, Y&R fans have seen Phyllis make a mess of a few people’s lives, to say the very least. However, with COVID-19 reminding us about the earlier days in Genoa City, we are reminded that Phyllis hasn’t changed too drastically over the past few decades. Y&R producers took us back to 1996 when Phyllis, then a Romalotti, took her scheming to new heights.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Throwback: Classic Phyllis
Never underestimate the power of a redhead, vendetta, and seafood. Phyllis Summers-Romalotti (Michelle Stafford) jet-setted to the Caribbean with Dr. Tim Reid (Aaron Lustig) back in 1996. Phyllis was a force to be reckoned with, as she secretly put an octopus in Paul Williams’s (Doug Davidson) and Christine Williams’s (Lauraleebell) romantic, honeymoon bed. Christine, also known as “Cricket,” was trying to get the last laugh. Phyllis had spent years trying to torment Christine, and she had enough of the torture!
All of this drama started when Phyllis told Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) that she was pregnant with his child – which turned out to be Daniel Romalotti. Unfortunately, Danny was married to Christine at the time of Phyllis’ pregnancy. Danny married Phyllis but later divorced her because she was cheated on him with Dr. Tim Reid.
Phyllis accepted a marriage proposal from Dr. Reid, even though she still wanted to be with Danny. Christine fell in love with Paul, yet the feud was nowhere near over yet. Though both Christine and Phyllis’ love lives had separated them from Danny Romalotti, the women still deeply hated each other. Phyllis followed Christine and Paul to the Caribbean, where she (you guessed it) put an octopus in their honeymoon bed. Unfortunately, we don’t see much of Christine, Paul, Danny, Tim, or Daniel anymore, but Phyllis is still a strong character in Genoa City. The unsurprising news? She still loves a good scheme! Except it looks like she has graduated from octopus to blackmail.
