CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers for Wednesday, April 28 finds that it looks like we’re continuing with Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper)’s intervention, which is a good call in CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers’ opinion. The main fear for us is that when putting these theme weeks together, CBS may forget about continuity. It’s a concern born from when they were showing older episodes on Fridays to extend their ability to show new episodes, but we’re glad to see it’s unfounded in Y&R’s case. Now that our concerns are out of the way, how about some throwback spoilers for Katherine the great?
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Throwback Spoilers For April 28: Christmas Carol in July
Originally airing on July 6, 2004, this episode deals with Katherine’s post self-imposed intervention. While she denied wanting to quit in the previous episode, there’s a small kernel of her being that wants to quit drinking. She just wants someone to find the right argument, to press the right nerve to give her a reason to. So far, her son, granddaughter, and friends have failed to give her a reason, so maybe it’s time to dial up some otherworldly help?

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Throwback Spoilers For April 28: Katherine’s Intervention Continues
Yep, in true soap opera style, Katherine finds herself dealing with the ghosts of her past. One of these is her husband, Phillip Chancellor II she killed by driving drunk, and her son, Phillip Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz). These were interesting choices as longtime fans know Phillip III faked his death, but someone really wants Katherine to quit drinking, so why not try as a ghost?
There’s little doubt as to why this is in the Katherine the Great themed week as it shows the character at her lowest and brings back some of the characters we hadn’t seen for a while. Of course, there’s the question of does she stop drinking or not. We could tell you, but where is the fun in that? Instead, let’s sit back and enjoy a true classic with some snacks and refreshments. Though this may be a bad time to crack open some wine or other alcoholic beverage. We don’t want to slip into a Katherine moment too deeply, do we?
So far, CBS has hit some high notes this week in their Katherine the Great theme, and it has CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers wondering what’s next on the docket?
