CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that producers took an interesting spin with things on April 17th this year. Fans were taken back to 1991 in Genoa City with a Halloween episode. Presumably, to stretch out the current filming, due to the production lapse caused by COVID-19, fans were reminded of some of Genoa City’s favourite veterans – dressed in costume.
Oh, how things have changed over the past (nearly) thirty years. At the Halloween party, we are graced with a Cleopatra costume, a werewolf costume, and an emperor. Genoa City residents are having a golly time sharing drinks, stories, and Halloween fun – however, now with a side of drama.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Recap: Flashback Friday in Genoa City
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is dressed as an emperor as his much younger daughter, Victoria Newman (then Heather Tom) is sneaking around with her boyfriend, Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves). Years later, and we don’t see Ryan in Genoa City anymore, but Victoria (now played by Amelia Heinle) is a character that fans have grown to know and love.
In 1991, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) was pregnant with Colleen Abbott, who is now unfortunately deceased – a tragedy that Traci still mourns to this day. At the party, Traci discusses her pregnancy with the father of the baby, Brad Carlton (Don Diamont). This episode has no shortage of drama, though – however, the majority of the drama is surrounded by names that are merely forgotten in Genoa City today.
David Kimble (Michael Corbett) returned to Genoa City to surprise Danny. He was in disguise and was blaming Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) for destroying his plans of wealth. At the party, David shoots Danny, and naturally, everyone is shocked. What did you think about the Flashback Friday episode? It was nice to see an old memory of some actors that are no longer on the show!
