TLC Little People, Big World Spoilers: Matt Speaks Out About Editing
Matt was recently on the First Class Fatherhood podcast and said that there was so much editing done to the show that Matt and Amy never looked like they even liked each other. He said, “There’s a lot of time compression that makes it appear as though we are always at each other’s throats and it’s not quite that way.” He also told the podcast that the show was filmed generally during an eight month to one year period of time. This gives TLC plenty of time for edits and changes.
TLC Little People, Big World Spoilers: Editing is to Blame
Matt also told the podcast, “Let’s say Amy and I are arguing about something. We’ve been getting along for six months and then we have another argument, well they throw those two arguments into one episode. Just the nature of television really puts out a different impression.” He also pointed out that when the show began, he was unaware of the fact that he would have to develop a much thicker skin. The drama is pretty thick on the show and being on a show like this means that you are in the lime light. People all over social media have something to say about you. He said this was why it’s not worth the added drama, but the editing happens to help boost the ratings.
He told the podcast, “We appreciate all of our fans… we love the people who are interactive with us. But, we also realize some people they just get it wrong sometimes.” He said that he is isolating with his new girlfriend, Caryn Chandler and they are doing their best to safe at this time. “Everybody in our family is safe and healthy so far. Caryn and I are down here in our Arizona home… We’re just really staying in, so is the family up in Oregon and they all are doing well.” The new season of Little People, Big World will premiere on March 31 at 9 p.m. on TLC.
