One of these couples is a same-sex couple and the first for the TLC franchise. Stephanie Matto and Erika Owens are dating long distance and this show follows them on their journey to be together. There have been a lot of rumors swirling around about Stephanie and how she could be lying to viewers about being bisexual. We have the scoop on what is really going on with her.

As soon as Stephanie hit the airwaves, fans of the show were very confused about how she said she has tested coming out to her mother. Why were they confused? Many reasons, but one is that on her YouTube channel she has multiple videos about being in love with women! Did her mother not watch these videos? Is she really good at hiding them? Not really because we were able to find them! Her first bisexual video was posted about three years ago and it is about a girl that she fell for when she was a teenager.

When viewers first heard about this same-sex couple, most of them were very excited to see what happened. In the second episode of the show, Stephanie was having some struggles telling her family about her relationship. She said that even a small number of her friends knew about how she dated women, but she has never been this public about it. Some viewers think that this entire story is faked and her family and friends have known since she first posted her video about it.
What makes this so suspicious? First, about 68,000 people have watched this video. So you mean to tell us that none of her friends and family ever stumbled upon it and watched it? This is highly unlikely, to be honest, especially if you knew your friend had a YouTube channel. Erika is also in this relationship and we have to remember that all of these rumors do harm to both of the women. Erika did learn that she was a secret from Stephanie’s family and friends and she did get a bit upset.
We are not 100% sure that Stephanie is faking this coming out story line, but from what we have seen, she seems comfortable with women and from watching the video, she did have quite the love for a woman when she was just a teenager.
