CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ spoilers find that actor Joshua Morrow admits that he wouldn’t mind seeing Nick Newman with a different woman for a chance. While it looks like things will continue to heat up between him and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), a new woman would certainly heat things up for him, and in more ways than one, too. Here’s what he has to say.
Speaking to CBS Soaps in Depth, actor Joshua Morrow, who plays Nick Newman on the hit NBC soap, absolutely believes that his character does deserve another shot at love, but this time with someone completely different and who isn’t already on the canvas. After all, there are only so many times that a guy like Nick can recycle through his former wives, girlfriends and love conquests, right?
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Does Nick Newman Deserve A New Love Interest?
The actor tells the publication in an interview, “I would love the chance! If it was somebody really good and fun, and the writers had a good story, then of course. You become an actor because you have this creative, gypsy-like mentality. You want to experience other people and tell other stories, and any chance you get to do that, it’s great.”
With that said, Joshua added that while Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis Summers will always be there for Nick, he wouldn’t mind seeing the writers change things up for awhile for his character.
The actor further explained, “I remember when they brought Kelly Sullivan (ex-Sage) on She’s tremendous. And they brought Jessica Collins on. Man, they were home run hitters! The show has a through-line that they maintain with core characters – Sharon and Phyllis will always be the go-to ladies for Nick – and I don’t mind that. But there are times when you are like, ‘Yeah, let’s go have fun with someone else for a while.’”
