Kody had said he wanted to move his entire family into a big house instead of their cul-de-sac set up of four houses in Vegas. Meri Brown, his first wife had mixed feelings about this, while Christine didn’t like it at all. On the February 9 episode, fans saw Kody and his sister talking about his dreams of having a giant family home. He also talked about the possibility of his spouses leaving.
When he brought up the big house idea at Christmas, his family wasn’t interested. Kody knew that his idea had brought him trouble. He told TLC producers that some of his spouses didn’t talk to him. Kody said he doesn’t feel any of them wanted to talk about it, and it hurt him that his family didn’t want to live together. The TLC ‘Sister Wives’ cast members once again to discuss the idea, but the conversation changed when Kody said he would allow any of his wives to leave if they wanted to.
“We’ve decided we’re a family. But what if you decided we’re not a family anymore?” the patriarch asked his wives and they responded by rolling their eyes and groaning. “You’ve got to have an asset you can sell as you move on, we buy you out.” The ‘Sister Wives’ didn’t like what their husband was saying. He said that he was “just being realistic.”
