David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) is often the centre of attention on Coronation Street, and it would seem he will once again be just that. It hasn’t been the best 18 months for David, but things are going to take another turn for the worse in the coming weeks.
He has cut a frustrated and tired figure over recent weeks as he has been making regular visits to Leeds to visit Shona (Julia Goulding) who is recovering from her coma. He is also balancing a juggling act by trying to spend time with his kids, and that will tip him over the edge.
Coronation Street Spoilers: David Crashes Car
The highly-charged scenes are due to air next week and will centre around a car crash that David suffers as he is trying to take his kids to their school plan. David will take his eyes off the road and crash straight into a skip that is outside the Victoria Courts apartments.
However, David is eventually able to get Lily and Max to school and luckily nobody is hurt, as they are just slightly shaken up. David later receives news from Kevin Webster that there is no fixing his car, and he begins to panic about how he could possibly get to Leeds to see Shona.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Maria’s Kind Gesture
After speaking to his family, he realises that the only way that he can get to Leeds is by taking the train. But, things take a turn for the worse when he gets there. He is told by the doctors that Shona doesn’t want to see him and that he should go home and respect her wishes.
Later in the episode, Maria (Samia Longchambon) sees David looking upset sitting on a bench. She talks to him about the situation, before then offering her car to him so that he can continue to try and get through to Shona. David is overwhelmed by the gesture, but will it help him get through these challenges times?
