CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers update for Wednesday, February 19 indicate that with the Newman Gala underway, tomorrow’s episode will be a tribute to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)’s career in Genua City and as an actor. We’ve already seen Noah Newman (Robert Adamson), Victor’s first wife, Julia Newman (Meg Bennett), and Victor’s brother, Matt Miller (Robert Parucha) make their surprise appearances, thanks to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers: An Iconic History

With everyone that’s meant something to Victor gathered, things are in place for a celebration that rarely comes around on television. For forty years, Eric Braeden has given us iconic moment after iconic moment, and now we get to celebrate them with him.

The question we here at CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers have is… will there be anything else? The safe answer is yes.

While there’s something on the horizon for the Gala, there’s still the question of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and what, if anything, is going to happen to her.

This could just be wishful thinking, but she’s dug herself a nice hole with Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan), Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). While there’s great potential for a storyline of a hotel war between Phyllis and Abby, it feels wrong that this isn’t corrected before too long.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers: Intrigue Galore

There are a couple of ways for this to go with this, and one would be Phyllis suffers an accident at the inevitable confrontation that’s going to happen at the Gala, but that’s too quick and clean.

Another, and possibly better yet darker is something happens to Chelsea before she can officially sell her shares. If she’s incapacitated for a while, it’s reasonable to expect Adam to be in control of her decisions, and he could decide not to sell them until Chelsea is able to do it herself. Phyllis won’t like it, but it’ll given him, Chance, and Abby time to work out how to take her down.

Another possibility we could see is Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) facing more complications with her chemo treatment. With the stress of having Phyllis there and confrontations going around the room while Victor pats himself on the back, it’s easy to expect her previous illness returns. If she’s unable to make it out or needs help, that could add some unforeseen bumps in her storyline. Not that she needs it, but soap opera writers are never happy unless they’re making someone miserable.

Whatever they set up in addition to the Newman Gala, it’s going to be fun the next few days.
