Jon had explained why he wouldn’t allow his kids to appear on the show. He said he wanted a normal childhood for them. Kate on the other hand would let a court order stop her. She defied the order and let her children appear on a TLC special. Four of her kids appeared on TLC camera even though the judge ordered against it. Alexis, Leah, Joel, and Aaden Gosselin were filmed by TLC. The four of them are part of Jon and Kate’s sextuplets. They are 15 years old. It was through the birth of the sextuplets Kate started her journey to fame, although the original show covered everyone.

When Kate and Jon went their separate ways, she started filming her show as a single mum in Kate Plus 8. However Jon stopped her from allowing the kids appear on the show. She filmed a sequence during the ban and two of their sextuplets didn’t film with her, but their older twins appeared on the show. Jon and Kate’s twins, Mady and Cara are 19 years old now and they can make decisions on their own, so they can decide whether want appear on the show or not. Hannah and Collib Gosselin, the other two members of the couple’s sextuplets live with their dad, so they didn’t film with their mother.
Kate didn’t tell why TLC fired are, but it is crystal care that it is because she can’t film with her kids. The mum of eight’s last semi-solo spinoff, Kate Plus Date didn’t have good ratings. So without the kids that made the Mother of eight famous, TLC would likely not keep her on contract.
