It is the one show that manages to captivate the entire country, and the best news of all is that this year; we have two separate seasons of Love Island to look forward to.
The first of which is a new look winter edition, which has been teased for the last couple of months. However, eagle-eyed viewers of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here last night would have seen an extended first glimpse into the change of scenery.
Love Island Trailer Drops
In the one-minute trailer, we are treated to the tones of Iain Sterling, while singletons dance around the brand new South Africa villa, with the show’s presenter Caroline Flack also making an appearance towards the end of the tease.
The announcement that there was to be a winter edition of the smash hit show was made during the final episode of the summer season. With Flack admitting that the demand for the show has now meant that they can do it twice a year, and viewers already can’t wait.
There was no official date placed on the start, but all we know is that it’s January. There is no better way to shake away the winter blues than crowding around the television on the night time to watch the drama unfold. Fans will also be thrilled to hear that there are no big changes planned, as the creators have revealed that there is no need to fix something that isn’t broken.
Subtle Hints Towards Shows History
Love Island has been a mainstay on the summer television calendar in the UK for the past five years, which means there is already an awful lot of history that the show has. There have been iconic moments down the years that have made fan’s toes curl, like when Georgia was dumped ruthlessly by Josh at a recoupling, and Dr Alex’s constant search for love, and with that comes a host of subtle hints in the trailer.
Actors in the clip can be seen doing the ‘Salmon’ which was made famous during the 2019 edition, while there is a reference to Tommy Fury’s bizarre snack of cheese, mayonnaise and ketchup and Curtis’ festival hat also makes an appearance. Flack ends the teaser by saying ‘Sorry Winter, you’re just not our type’ while looking down the barrel of the camera.
There isn’t much longer to wait before we can see all the drama unfold, and we can’t wait!
