Jennifer Arenas has made a name for herself in telenovelas, working on shows like “Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas” (Lady, seller of roses) and Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso (Without breasts, there is paradise). The latter is arguably her most famous, if not most controversial role. Since leaving the recently-ended franchise back in season 3, she’s been keeping busy. Keep an eye out for this actress, because she’s likely to make it big. Here’s what you need to know.
Her most famous part for many is her role as Valentina Fonesca in the Paraíso franchise. She debuted in the 2016 continuation, playing the daughter of Ximena Fonesca (Carolina Sepúlveda), an original chica del barrio (girl from the block). Valentina was suddenly thrust into a strange world her mother mostly cut ties with after her best friend, Catalina Marin Santana () found herself the target of Yésica “La Diabla” Beltrán (Majida Issa). Through the crazy challenges, including this war with a crime boss/narco, the loss of a friend, and Cata’s many dramas, Valentina stayed loyal to the end. Unfortunately, she was kidnapped by a cannibal and her fate was a mystery for a long time. Fans were not happy. We, certainly, don’t like the “oh, by the way, she escaped” ending. There was a reason for this, though, that ties into what she’s up to now.
Jennifer Arenas the Traveler
One thing to know about Jennifer Arenas is, she knows what she wants and she’s going for it. Specifically success and work in the United States. This was actually the reason for her sudden, controversial disappearance and off screen departure. The actress wrote a message to fans explaining that VISA requirements wouldn’t allow her to delay the trip any more. Currently, she’s splitting time between New York and Colombia. She’s certainly not staying idle.
Since her arrival in New York, she’s held occasional acting workshops. You can see stories on her Instagram highlights talking about the workshops. Her work on the series proves she’s definitely got something to say there. Besides this, though, she’s studying English as well as human/animal behavior. Surely, this is a further tool for her acting journey. She’s already starred in several short projects since her arrival in the States. Check her account to see some of them. One, we’ve had yet to see. So, what’s next?

Don’t Look Back starring Jennifer Arenas
This short film doesn’t have a lot of information available just yet, such as release date or synopsis. However, she and others involved have been teasing the project, and it definitely sounds intriguing. finalJennifer Arenas both stars in and produces this film, which teases a hard journey to new goals. Text for the film says, “The bigger the light, the larger the shadow that drags you back.” Other teasers encourage one to look for the light of opportunity in front of you, while also warning that one can be loneliest while being surrounded by many. Keep an eye out for this one, because it sounds like a can’t-miss. We’re wishing the actress luck as she continues to walk the indie film path.
