Coronation Street spoilers finds that it hasn’t been a good few weeks for bosses as they have had to deal with the departures of many of the show’s biggest stars. Those include Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston) and Katie McGlynn (Sinead Tinker). However, they have been handed a big boost this week as eight of the current stars of the soap have committed to another year on the soap.
Among the stars that have committed to the soap for another year are William Roache (Ken Barlow), Sue Cleaver (Eileen Webster) and Cherylee Houston (Izzy Armstrong). There was also more exciting news as the soap announced that three further stars have been signed up to appear this year, and they range from returning stars to brand new characters.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Bosses Jubilant With Big Name Signing
The biggest name to have signed a new contract with Corrie is Jack P Shepherd (David Platt). Shepherd is slowly becoming an iconic character in the soap, and he is set to have one of the biggest storylines over the festive period. He has already had a tough year, with months of it spent in prison for scamming his grandmother Audrey (Sue Nicholls) out of her money.
However, he has been able to amend that relationship, but there is set to be a new hammer blow to end this year. According to reports, David and his wife are going to have a tough start to 2020 after she is forced to spend time away from her husband following the gunshots that fire on the cobbles on Christmas Day.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Other Big Names To Sign New Deals
Fans will also be rejoicing at some of the most prominent characters signing new deals. Those include the iconic Cleaver and David Neilson (Roy Cropper). Helen Worth (Gail Platt) has also put pen to paper on a new deal, on what is sure to be a big year for the Platt’s. Along with the drama that is set to unfold concerning Shona and David, there will also be a shock proposal in the family, while Bethany (Lucy Fallon) also makes her exit from the cobbles.
Joe Duttine (Tim Metcalfe), Michael Le Vel (Kevin Webster), Peter Ash (Paul Foreman) and Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) have also signed new deals to the joy of fans. All of whom will be having significant storylines around the Christmas period and into the New Year.
