‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers say that Friday, November 8th was an historic moment in Daytime. For the first time ever, a soap will jump ahead in time, in one of several moves that seem to be geared toward strengthening the show’s position in a struggling Daytime world. But will this lead to a complicated situation? Here’s what you need to know.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Evidence of resurrection
Recent episodes have been strongly hinting that an iconic daytime villain is alive and well. In the Wednesday, November 6th episode, Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) was seen making a call to an unknown party updating him on the Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) situation. This isn’t the first time, either. Other episodes have seen him acting like he’s not acting alone, as well as the goons back in Chicago hinting there’s someone greater than Kristin DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) causing trouble. Plus, let’s not forget how many times Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) has been mentioned lately. ‘General Hospital’ recently brought back a recast Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) after a similar setup.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Conflicting reports
It seems all but agreed by various outlets that Stefano is alive, and that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) has been in contact with him. They also agree that this will come to light following the time jump. The thing that’s not agreed on is whether he’ll be recast or be an off screen presence. Whatever option, there are issues.

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Tough sell
As we mentioned above, Stefano is an iconic daytime villain. And the show has definitely kept the late Mascolo alive through many shots of his portrait. They’ve also had everyone from Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) to Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) talking to said portrait. Given he’s still so popular, this would be a controversial move. Fans may see it as an outright disrespect to the actor, or at the very least, they might not be able to connect with the new actor.
The other option presents another problem. If he’s an offscreen presence working behind the scenes, it could be cool. Even creepy. However, depending on how often we see this offscreen thing mentioned, the device could get old fast. There has to be something more than a character getting one-sided phone calls or seeing a shadowy figure that doesn’t speak. One thing is definitely for sure. This is going to be quite a chaotic ride.
