‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Salem went through a time warp on Friday, November 8th. This was revealed in a dramatic moment when Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) wakes from a coma. She’s shocked to learn a year has passed since she took a plunge of a balcony. Recently, head writer Ron Carlivati opened up to TV Insider about the move. Here are some things to know.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Long time coming
We were surprised to learn Carlivati wanted to do this for quite some time. And Days wasn’t the first drama he took part in he wanted to jump forward in time. Two other iconic shows were also in his sights at one point, including one still on the air.

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Mindful writer
We were glad to see that Carlivati mentioned multiple times he knows this is a hard sell. It’s going to take a lot for people to adjust to a lot changing in such a short time. While he doesn’t mention many specifics, he does reveal in the interview that not everything is going to be thrown out the window. This is a good thing, because it provides moments of calm amidst the unraveling of what chaos has hit Salem. If his interview is anything to go by, we’re going to be sorting it all out for a long time to come.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Tradition
In keeping with that spirit of some stability amidst the chaos, he does hint that holidays in Salem won’t change, as Jennifer spent exactly one year in a coma. That means viewers can look forward to the Christmas spirit staying alive, as well as New Year’s insanity. We loved his comment about what fans would do if he skipped one Christmas tradition in particular. With so much up for grabs right now, we can only imagine what will happen on December 31st. The last party was interrupted by a return from the dead. Pretty hard to top, but we’re thinking they are up for the challenge.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Looking ahead
There’s been a lot of stories out there. Fans and outlets are speculating on all kinds of rumors, but there’s one we’re particularly interested in. They set up a hard task when they hinted Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) is alive and well, and that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) has been in contact. We can’t wait to see how that one plays out, and how that might affect his relationship with Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi).
The other thing we’re looking forward to is the likely resurrection of Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). He’s reportedly been sighted on set, so this is going to create a whole new challenge. After all, you can’t get any more dead than having your heart removed and given to someone else.
