‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Susan Moore – Gone but not forgotten
‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers find that in 1978, Susan Moore (Gail Ramsey) appeared on the Port Charles canvas and proceeded to date Mitch Williams (Christopher Pennock), and continued to date him even after he and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) got married the affair only ended after Tracy contributed 2 million dollars to Mitch’s then gubenatorial campaign. Afterwards, it seemed that Susanne had developed a taste for men who weren’t actually hers, she then had an affair with married man Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), who was arguably getting back at wifey Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) after she had an affair with Rick Webber (Chris Robinson). (Is it just me or was that a lot to take in? Phew!)
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jason Morgan is born!
No one thought that anything would come of this little affair, until Susan Moore fell pregnant. She told no one and ran away to New York City where she gave birth to the boy who would grow up to be our friendly neighborhood mafia enforcer Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and his twin, Drew Caine (Billy Miller). But, you know no one knew about Drew until way later, so uh, yeah, there’s that.
Anyway sometime after Jason’s birth Alan tracked down Susan to get her to come back to Port Charles. Alan tried to have is cake and eat it too but Susan would not let him live with her until he was single which caused him to file for divorce from Monica – but as we all know that didn’t stick and in the end Alan ended up back with Monica anyway after a lot of back and forth.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Susan got fleeced and Scotty turned around and fleeced her!
Poor heartbroken Susan tried to sue Alan for support but only ended up getting $150,000 out of the deal while Jason got the lion’s share with a whopping million dollar trust fund. Susan ended up with her lawyer, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and arranged for her cousin Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) to have custody of Jason if anything happened to her.
She found out later that Scotty was just using her for access to Jason’s trust fund which he used to build a mall on the docks (Man, I hope Jason’s getting a cut of the profits now!) , which prompted her to kick Scotty out and cut him off and no one can really blame her for that.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The end cometh
However she teamed up with Lila Quartermaine’s (Anna Lee) former husband, Crane Tolliver (Wiley Harkey), in order to prove that Lila and Edward’s marriage was a sham and that seems to be where the story ends for Susan. She was found murdered and for awhile every Quartermaine in existence was fingered as a suspect but as it turns out it was just Crane, the man whom she had wrongfully trusted who shot her after she decided she wanted no part of the deal after all.
In 2012 it was revealed that Jason was actually one of twins and that twin turned out to be Drew Caine whom Heather Webber said she sold to nurse Betsy Frank (Deborah Strang) but that turned out to be a lie as it was actually her own child she sold, Scott, who grew up to be Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What would Susan have to say about the whole Franco/Drew mess?
Arguably, since Susan is dead and the real Drew Cain is dead we can all say that they’ve met in the afterlife and have discussed and resolved things and she’s cool with it , but what if Susan hadn’t died in 1983? If she were still alive and her son had died and they thought he was now living in the body of Franco Baldwin? Oy. One could argue that this might be where Dr. Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) would find herself an ally. Any Mom would want to keep her son around, especially if thye were allegedly killed as traumatically as Drew was. However, that being said..
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Who’s side would Susan be on?
Susan already gave Drew away once, she was never there for his first words or first steps and arguably does not know him as a person, so, in the moment, yes she might be selfish and want to keep him around because she wasn’t there for his formative years but on some deep, maternal level she would also know that Frankendrew wasn’t really her son and might eventually come around to the whole memory procedure thing. Also, choosing between her son and the man that is technically her nephew would be a hell of a choice to make.
Granted, she didn’t really get to know either of them in her life so perhaps she would surprise everyone and be in Kim’s camp. This theory relies on pure maternal instinct and it seemed that Susan just had too much going on in her life to have that strong of one. Maybe if she had been around longer, it would’ve eventually developed but as it stands… we’ll never know. To find out what actually happens with the whole Frankendrew mess, we’ll just have to stay tuned! For any other soap opera and entertainment news, please visit Daily Soap Dish.
