‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) identity crisis is going to get worse before it gets better! Unfortunately for his wife Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), that’s not good news at all. Here’s what you need to know.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Head Writer Opens Up About Franco’s Identity Crisis, Teases What’s Next For Frankendrew!
According to Soaps in Depth, new co-head writer Dan O’Connor gives fans a little insight to what we can expect to see happen with Franco’s ongoing identity crisis. He tells the publication, “Franco as Drew’s focus is on the one person that he knows and that is Kim, the person he felt behind and still has very strong feelings for. Kim will be torn between her memories of Drew and how he presents himself in the body of this man who happens to be the husband of a dear friend of hers.”
Dan adds, “Elizabeth is of singular focus, and that is putting her family back together. When she learns must be done in order to save her family, she will have to decide whether it’s a step she’s willing to take given its potentially very grave consequences. Julian is hot to trot to leave Port Charles to start over with Kim somewhere far away.”
Given that Franco is clearly out of his mind, it’s going to take a lot of work on Elizabeth’s part to try and convince him that he’s not who he thinks he is. Of course, Kim sure isn’t helping things either as she’s desperately trying to hold on to whatever memories she has of the past, including Drew. Even though she knows the truth she’s still willing to play along just because she’s so intrigued by what Franco has to offer.
GH Spoilers: Legal Battle For Franco Heats Up
Now that the legal battle is about to get real and nasty, all cards are on deck! Liz has already mentioned that she will use Kim’s desperation to have Oscar’s replacement against her in court, if need be, and Kim wants FrankenDrew to herself at any cost. Although she had her reservations in the beginning, she’s becoming more enamored by Drew 2012 by the day to the point that she’s getting lost in the delusion herself. However, the angle presents an interesting dilemma; if Franco feels he’s Drew, who is Elizabeth, and anyone else for that matter, to tell him otherwise?
Michael Grey has already made that point to Kim; the mind is part of our genetical makeup. Identity is at the forefront of modern debates, so the show is being brave in tackling an important subject. Of course, given the risk to FrankenDrew’s life, it would seem reckless for a court to force the reversal procedure upon him, and which judge will want to be responsible for essentially making Franco a vegetable?Needless to say, fans will have to tune in to find out what will happen next!
