Yolanda is apparently already jumping headfirst into her new role as official fan club president. She scolds a radio announcer for making it too easy to win a ticket to one of Selena’s shows. She thinks that only a true fan should win, and asking where the band played as children is too easy. What’s more, she says that the announcer shouldn’t have accepted the answer, “Papa Gallo”, as the full name of the family business had been “Papa Gallos”.
Apparently her work is appreciated, because Abraham surprises Yolanda by bringing Selena along to a meeting. The two hit it off right away, with Selena later inviting Yolanda out after another fan club event. We see the friendship deepen more as Selena eventually takes Yolanda along to a movie set, where she confesses her dream of designing clothes. She says her father isn’t for it because it will take attention away from the music. Yolanda thinks it would be a great business move, so Selena asks if she’ll help with a lot of the day-to-day stuff so the music won’t suffer.

The slight tension between Maria and Manny (Moises Arizmendi) over the case and how much time she’s spent on the book. There is also clear hinting tonight of a possible threat as she continues to work. The case is moving her in part because of Selena’s trusting nature and how badly in ended up backfiring. She’s also wondering about the information that came to light during the investigation—Selena had a suitcase with a passport and Mexican work permit. She wonders why she would have had those things, and why she brought them with her that day.
Back on the day of the murder, we see Maria at work at the TV station, sharing whatever details are coming out as well as one of Selena’s last interviews. At one point, a co-worker is planning to use the word “Killer” in relation to Yolanda, but Maria objects. There has been no trial or conviction, as the events just happened. As a journalist, she thinks they should be using the terms, “suspect,” “alleged killer,” or “the accused.” It’s not about defending Yolanda, but being as accurate as possible. Also, everyone here is innocent until proven guilty.
