El Final del Paraíso, Season 4/Episode 12: Cita a ciegas (Blind date)
El Final del Paraíso spoilers for Wednesday, August 28th have José Luis Vargas (Francisco Bolivar) being saved by Santiago Sanín (Francisco Bolívar), reveal what’s going on between Catalina Marín Santana (aka Cata 2, played by Carolina Gaitán) and Hernán Darío “Nachi” Bayona (Juan Pablo Urrego), and might lead to problems with Doña Hilda Santana’s (Catherine Siachoque) show. We also have Aurelio “El Titi” Jaramillo (Gregorio Pernía) playing a dangerous game for love. If you missed it, let’s catch up with an El Final del Paraíso recap.
El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Welcome rescue
Jota is brought to a jail back home today. The same one where Santiago is waiting out an escape attempt. He swears his innocence, but the corrupt guard, Acevedo (Germán Roja) laughs in his face. He’s been pulling a lot of stuff, actually, since he first showed up and is totally corrupt. While we viewers await the obviously coming downfall, Jota is meeting some new “friends” there. They get threatening with him and clearly want a little fun. Jota’s nervous, but he has nothing to worry about for now. It seems Santiago has made quite a reputation for himself, because he makes the two men back off in like two seconds flat. He warns them not to touch a hair on Jota’s head, to which Jota is very grateful. Looks like Jota has an ally for however long Santiago remans locked up.
El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Jealousy and loss
We’ve finally learned what’s going on with Cata 2 and Nachi. To accommodate the fact the actor wasn’t available much this season, the writers decided to have Cata 2 lose the baby they’d been expecting at the end of last season. Apparently, the couple of years between then and the events of this season have not been easy for the couple, affecting their relationship. That’s why Nachi didn’t accompany Cata 2 when she came back for the fashion show, and why he’s not there now as the family faces her godfather Jota’s legal trouble and the mystery illness Albeiro refuses to name.
We see this more as she and Nachi argue a bit on the phone when Cata 2 goes out with Sandra (Alejandra Monsalve) and Gabriel (Ricardo Henao). She tries explaining that her friend is there with them, and that Gabriel is just helping Jota with his problem, but the call doesn’t end well. She later confesses all this to Dona Hilda, who encourages her to keep trying.
El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Anything for family
Carlos Jaramillo (Mauricio Mejía) appears to have not been as affected by that talk as we thought last time. He continues to go on today about how his daughter deserves justice. To his credit, when Albeiro asks to speak to him alone, Carlos expresses guilt over how Bayron Santana (Juan Diego Sánchez) turned out in his absence, ending up a hitman who was killed by the police. He also feels bad about the path Catalina Santana (Carmen Villalobos) was on, but glad she’s changed her life now—even if she has no time for him. He feels that, given everything, he has to do whatever he can to do right by the one daughter he was actually somewhat around for.
Albeiro is somewhat understanding, as he would do anything for Cata 2 as well. In that spirit, he has a favor to ask of Carlos. He wants Carlos to look after Hilda and his daughter for him. He doesn’t explain about his illness, just saying that he’s going on a trip.
El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Embarrassing secrets
Speaking of Dona Hilda, Joana (Bárbara Najas), the annoying associate of Salvatore Miranda (Martín Karpan) has gotten her journalist friend to dig up some dirt. Despite telling him to start with about Doña Hilda’s dark past, she seems shocked when he shows her the proof of Cata Grande having been a call girl before. She’s definitely shocked when he reveals proof that Fashion Week’s new addition had hooked up with her daughter’s boyfriend.
El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Dangerous game
El Titi is showing the recklessness (or lack of smarts) he’s shown before by bringing Cata Grande to his place ahead of time and warning her that tomorrow’s exchange is a trap. The others are planning to kill her, but he’s not going to let that happen because she’s the love of his life. He tries to come on to her, but Cata Grande says she’s done with the call girl life. She only sleeps with someone because she cares about them and wants to do it, not as a thank you type of deal.
They don’t get to talk to much more, as Titi is summoned to Mano Negra’s (Juan Pablo Gamboa) side. He wants to know how things are going with Pilar (Margarita Reyes) and the modifications to XY4. Unfortunately, he’s having that unauthorized meeting with Cata Grande, so he’s a little late getting there. Mano Negra isn’t pleased. Furthermore, when Titi mentions that more money will be needed to finish things up, Rocco Candela (Juan David Galindo) accuses him of being a thief. Titi denies this, and Mano Negra’s happy to hand over more money to make sure the drug is set.
When Titi gets back home, Mariana Sanín Santana (Stephania Duque) is waiting for him and wants some action from her baby daddy. Titi refuses her and makes it clear that they’re only together because of baby Cata, which annoys her.
El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Going back
Agent Michael Rubens (Giancarlo de Sousa) planted a device on Cata Grande’s weapon to track her. While Titi is out dealing with Mano Negra and Mariana, a team (including Vanessa Salazar, played by Estefanía Gómez) arrive. Cata Grande is upset, as Titi could have been there. Things could’ve devolved quickly into a shootout. She then tells Vanessa that she’s sending her back to Colombia, as Jota really needs her more than Cata Grande does.
El Final del Paraíso spoilers: Needy help
Finally, Esteban Calvo (Manuel Gómez) is compared to a needy boyfriend by Yésica “La Diabla” Beltrán (Kimberly Reyes) when he calls to tell her about how things are going. He claims that Albeiro has been properly baited and will surely follow through on what Diabla wants. She just warns him not to tell Albeiro that she is alive yet, or that she has a new face.
