‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers recently revealed the arrival of Wei Shin (Michael Hagiwara). The mysterious DiMera board member has been mentioned a lot in recent months, but has been an off-screen character, with the exception of one appearance back in 2014. The character was then played by Donald Li.

Coincidently, that appearance also is credited as happening in August. Let’s take a look at the actor behind the mysterious figure, and what might be next.
As we mentioned, the character has mostly been a mysterious figure who’s mentioned from time to time, like when Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) threatened to tell on Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). From what we can see, he’s obviously the top guy on the board, as he is the one who gets called a lot. The fact he stopped by himself to issue Stefan’s walking papers and later made the decision between Gabi and Not-Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), also shows his power. From the little we saw of him, it looks like he’s a tough one. Gabi better watch her step.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: All about Michael
The actor should look familiar. For one, he’s not a stranger to Daytime, being created in a couple episodes. He’s also gotten into the nighttime soap action, appearing in an episode of the classic Fox 90210 spinoff, Melrose Place. It’s not all drama, though. He’s also appeared in the Telenovela-inspired series Jane the Virgin, about a girl who ends up pregnant through a medical mix-up. Yes, it’s insane.
Besides that, the Illinois native appeared on the classic sitcom Married… with Children, has done commercial and radio work, voice-over work on cartoons like Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and is a trained theater actor.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: What’s next
The actor is a busy guy, being credited with three projects this year on IMDB, and we expect him to be in and out of Salem for a while. For one, he mentioned in Friday’s episode that he’d be keeping Gabi on a short leash. Secondly, given that Not-Nicole was very unhappy to lose her bid for CEO, we expect a war to continue that will cause poor Shin a lot of headaches. Finally, with such an extensive career and so much upheaval going on in DiMera, we can’t imagine he was brought in for only a couple of episodes. There’s a lot more story to be told.
