Your Monday, July 22nd La Reina del Sur recap finds Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo) delivering some hard truth to Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita), some undercover work by Ray Dávila (Alejandro Speitzer), and Tiana (Aroha Hafez) begging for revenge. If you missed the action, let’s get right to your La Reina del Sur spoilers.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Promises made
César “Batman” Güemes (Alejandro Calva) has a plan. He knows that Epi isn’t being honest about what happened with Batman’s wife and kids. This is why he’s going to be helping Teresa by bringing Oleg Yasikov (Antonio Gil) back from the alleged dead.
When Oleg “wakes” (he’d been faking being asleep still from the injuries), he demands to know what’s going on. Batman wants revenge, and he’s got all the documentation needed to take his enemy down.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Truth
Teresa ends up revealing the truth about Sofia Dantes’ (Isabella Sierra) fate as she brings Francesco Belmondo (Raoul Bova) to where the group is hiding. Rocío and Paloma Aljarafe (Sara Vidorreta and Agata Herranz) take the hoax the best of all, but they’re all ultimately happy and understanding of why Teresa had to do what she did.
Francesco is going to be helping her to fix the mess that Teresa’s been caught up in ever since he handed her location over to Cayetana Segovia (Luisa Gavasa).
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Clubbing
Ray follows through on meeting Danilo Márquez (Emannuel Orenday) and does a great job of acting like he’s not a dog who was chasing after two women at once. Ray manages to get the guy too drunk to know better and comes on to him, the whole time steering the conversation so he can get some intel on Alejandro Alcalá (Mark Tacher). We’ll see just where and how far he takes this.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: You’re expendable
Epi is shook today as he gets the full scope of the plan, and even seems shocked and upset that anyone would hurt Sofia rather than hand her back to Teresa as agreed. With Francesco’s help, Epi seems to believe the story. He even appears to have doubts about Genoveva Alcalá (Kika Edgar) now, and makes subtle hints to her later that leave Genoveva obviously confused.
He does some searching of the house before heading over to Alejandro’s hotel room. He is met by the unwilling snake and the snake’s campaign manager, who claim they were talking about Epi’s campaign. Okay, they were sort of telling the truth…
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Preparations
What the pair was really doing in that hotel room is discussing Alejandro’s new role as president. To his credit, Alejandro is still reluctant to go through with this plan, but he’s told there is no other option. Orders are orders. Furthermore, he needs to start thinking about who his First Lady will be. The country is pretty conservative, after all, and he’ll need a woman by his side. Oh, that is going to go over so well with Danilo…
If Alejandro can’t make that happen, he’s going to have to call in the ex-wife, something Alejandro doesn’t want to do at all. And please, let’s not go there. After all, we only have a few episodes left, so why use the time to set up this ex-wife who’ll come back into the picture?
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Eye for an eye
Finally, Tiana is furious about Cayetana’s happy little shopping trip with Sofia. Her boy is in the ground, and she wants someone to pay for that. If the elder Aljarafe sisters aren’t going to pay, then this younger one will have to suffice. Plus, she’s still smarting over how Teresa stepped into their business before.
Girl, you better step off. Sofia está intocable. Plus, we can just imagine the reaction Teresa will have when she finds out that Cayetana not only disobeyed her wishes, but Sofia is in danger again. They’ll both be goners.
