Your Friday, June 28th La Reina del Sur spoilers have Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo) closer than ever to getting Sofia Dantes (Isabella Sierra) back. This also means that #TeamTeresa has a lot of planning to do about their own futures. In case you missed it, let’s catch you up on the La Reina del Sur recap highlights.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Just follow the plan
Teresa is all business today as she meets with Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita) and Alejandro Alcalá (Mark Tacher). She informs the pair that she will have Zurdo Villa (Flavio Medina) in a certain location at a certain time so the authorities can nail him. She demands a simultaneous raid of his ranch, which will provide Epifanio with all the information they need to prove the link between Villa and his competition.
In exchange, she wants Sofia to be waiting at a certain location for her to pick up within 10 minutes of her own escape from the hotel where Zurdo will be apprehended. If Sofia isn’t there, there will be a price to pay. She also alludes to Epifanio’s child on the way, as well as Alejandro’s relationship. We love when she gets serious.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Decisions, decisions
Now that things are coming to a close, the rest of the team has to decide what they’ll do from here on out. Teresa gathers them to learn about their plans, because she doesn’t want to leave loose ends, or abandon them when they might need her yet.
Ahmed (Abdelali El Aziz) is planning to make his way to Morocco. Ray Dávila (Alejandro Speitzer) plans to join his mother again, while Marcela (La Conejo, played by Carmen Navarro) wants to join Teresa and Sofia in hiding. They’re basically all she has left. The rest of the group is still figuring things out, but Teresa wants them to move fast. They’ve got 24 hours. Before she leaves them to think, she encourages Ray to talk things over with Paloma Aljarafe (Agata Herranz).
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Offer of a lifetime
Alejandro approaches General Rodríguez Quiroga (Hernán Méndez) with a huge deal. He wants the General to use Teresa’s intel to pull off the simultaneous missions. The man is skeptical, but Alejandro swears that if he follows through, he’s going to have a major win on his hands: capturing one of the most wanted people in the country. That’s something worthy of a promotion. Like, Secretary of Defense when Epifanio wins the election.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Saying goodbye
Teresa is happy (and cautiously optimistic) about getting her daughter back, but she has a personal loose end of her own to tie up: Francesco Belmondo (Raoul Bova). She meets with him to break the news about Sofia being returned to her tomorrow. While she doesn’t tell him she’s planning to settle in the Australian desert, she does inform him she’s not returning to Europe. The offer is out there, but he’s obviously not going to take it, seeing as how his bosses are adamant about him disappearing from Teresa’s life.
With no obvious way forward for their brief romance, they basically say farewell.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Reconciliation and surprise proposals
The Aljarafe sisters are both dealing with their futures with their respective guys. After Ray was called out before for his behavior and encouraged to settle things with Paloma, he does. He swears that he wants to be with her, even though the child she’s carrying isn’t his.
As for Rocío Aljarafe, she gets a proposal from Faustino Sánchez Godoy (Lincoln Palomeque). Clearly thinking of Paloma’s warnings of him being a narco and how that might not be the best life to take on, she turns him down. Faustino can’t believe what he’s heard and says as much before asking again. This time, Rocio hesitates, but we’ll have to wait until tonight’s episode to find out if she accepts.
