General Hospital spoilers relate that although Michelle Stafford’s departure as Nina Reeves was a sad piece of news when we reported, there is also some positive news on that front. Michelle has been doing everything she can behind the scenes and has been helping her replacement, Cynthia Watros, become more familiar of what it takes to play such an admired character. They have been spending time together and Stafford is showing Watros the ropes and making her more comfortable with General Hospital life. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital Spoilers: Michelle Stafford Takes Her Nina Reeves Replacement Cynthia Watros Under Her Wing, Shows Her the Ropes
Why is Stafford leaving General Hospital? She is actually going back to the Young and the Restless to play the ever so lovely, Phyllis Summers. She has been playing Nina since 2014, but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring Phyllis back to the Young and the Restless. That leaves a spot for Watros, who has been enjoying her time with Stafford and referred to her as “a beautiful soul.”
We are not sure of the exact dates that Watros will begin to be seen as Nina, but we do know it is sometime next month. If Watros looks familiar to you, you probably recognize her from the other television shows that she has done. She was on Guiding Light as Annie Dutton Banks from 1997-1998, Titus, The Drew Carey Show, Lost, House, the Young and the Restless as Kelly Andrews from 2013-2015, and Finding Carter.
Apparently, since Watros has been on the set, Stafford has been making her feel so welcome. The two of them have been taking selfies with one another and have been all over social media complementing each other and showing that they are truly becoming friends and love each other! This is so good to see in the world of the famous these days! It is so nice that two women have each other’s backs in this world of soap stars. We definitely approve of this friendship!
If you are ready to see these ladies in their new roles, it won’t be this coming week, but it will be soon enough. We are very excited to see Stafford back in the role of Phyllis and we are happy that Watros is back on the soaps and better than ever!
