General Hospital Spoilers: Emmy-Winner Vernee Watson (Stella Henry) Lands New CBS Primetime Gig
According to Soap Opera Digest, Vernee will be starring in a new CBS series created by Chuck Lorre (who many fans might know as the mastermind behind Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory). Vernee will star in Bob Loves Abishola, which will debut this fall. Vernee will play the role of Gloria.
A press release describes the comedy as “a love story about a middle-aged compression sock businessman from Detroit who unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, a Nigerian immigrant, while recovering from a heart attack and sets his sights on winning her over.”
Vernee says one of the reasons why she’s managed to stay so successful in the entertainment business is because she loves doing her job. That, and she tries to remain professional at all times. She told Soap Opera Digest, “There’s so much rejection that you go through in this business. I’m a Christian and I’m not ashamed of it, and it keeps me grounded. If I didn’t have [my faith], I don’t know where I would be. On set, I would always try to know my lines, pay attention to direction, hit the right marks and just not waste time, get my check and then, ‘See you later.’”
As many fans know, Vernee has been having the best month ever. The actress also won a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Supporting Actress earlier this month. Her fans absolutely love seeing her work on daytime television and can’t wait to see her in her new series this fall.
